Happy Opal October!

HAPPY BIRTHSTONES!

Happy Birthday October babies! New York is currently enjoying summer weather right now so live it up like you've never done before! (Seriously, how often in your life could you have celebrated a birthday without a jacket? Miami excluded.) While you're basking in sunlight, you can add to it with cute opal accessories.

Not a pink fan? Opal is one of the versatile stones. What makes it really interesting is its incredibly wide ranging differences. It goes from milky to incandescent to practically on fire, quite convenient for a birthstone. October can truly represent each day's individuality with Opal as its birthstone. Not everyone likes their birthstone (sorry November Citrine) but with opal, you can customize and always find a suitable shade. Happy Hunting!

Pearls for YOU!

We've always believed that every woman should have her go-to strand of pearls. It's the classic female staple, but like most fashion statements, it has to fit YOU. Hamilton Jewelers has provided a simple guide for you (via Mikimoto) to determine the perfect length that compliments your body.

The classic single row choker - princess length is probably the most often seen look for women of all ages. It's associated with the a lady a la Grace Kelly not Grace Jones. (Actually, we doubt we've ever seen Grace Jones in pearls.)

It's not just the length of the pearls, it's also the size. Standard pearl necklaces range from 5 - 7 mm pearls. For those that are not a fan of the stationary size can go for the equally elegant graduated necklace. The graduated necklace also serves as a thinning silhouette because it concentrates the eye towards the center.

The Showroom Presents - Blushing Brides

In our latest series: The Showroom, we will preview JewelMak's latest styles and trends.
Today's presentation features the latest color trend for the 2014 bride: Pink.

Oscar de la Renta & Theia
The past seasons of bridal fashions has incorporated bold new colors and silhouettes. Two years ago Vera Wang sent all black gowns down the runway. Last year we saw deep bold red.
This year, designers have envisioned a softer tone for the 2014 bride. Pink it up, Ladies!
